SELFISH
Words and Music by Richard Harrison

Look at the leaves as they blow,
In the wind to and fro,
Look at the birds as they fly,
Up in the sunlit sky.

And all of a sudden I realised,
That there’s no reason to cry,
That everything will work out fine,
And it’s just a matter of time.

Piano man climbs aboard his stool,
Plays a beggar a lonesome tune,
All the beggar can do is cry,
As past his deaf ears music flies.

And all of a sudden I realised,
That it’s been five days since I closed my eyes,
But my heart keeps right on beating,
So why should I waste my time sleeping?

Right this minute a baby's born,
And straight away she feels forlorn,
There’s something not right inside her head,
And they say in twenty years she’ll be dead.

And I have no reason to be upset,
And why should I always have to fret,
When there are people far worse off than me,
I suppose I act too selfishly.
